The first round of the Innovation Challenge Fund was launched on May 10th by Embassy of Sweden in Tirana, as part of the ‘EU for Innovation’ project, funded by the European Union in Albania and co-implemented by GIZ Albania.
The event gathered active stakeholders, that are part of the innovation eco-system, academia, public institutions and researchers. Innovative start-up, which has been active for 0 to 3 years can receive up to 25,000 EUR. Moreover, the Challenge Fund aims to support eligible Innovation Supporting Organizations, that have been operating for at least 12 months, with a funding up to 100,000 EUR.
During the presentation, Head of Development Cooperation at the Embassy of Sweden in Tirana, Ms. Petra Burcher stated, “There are innovators out there with solutions that can lead to change – and I want to encourage them to bring them to life”.
